SC - Greenville Spartanberg

Headed there tomorrow. Any suggestions for restaurants esp in Spartanburg - which seems challenging, prefer not mexican or italian as we have great options for those at home. We’ll be in Greenville for lunch on Fri and one in party is vegetarian which seems pretty challenging in Spartanburg. I found place called Kitchen Sync in Greer which seems to be between both cities. Anyone tied it? Thx

Wades - old line ‘cafeteria style’

actually much better before they relocated and ‘grew out of control’ - but veddy decent.

In Spartanburg I have ate at Heirloom https://heirloomsc.com/ and The Kennedy https://thekennedysc.com/ For nicer meals.
I have also been to Wades which is a fun Southern meat and three type place.

I live on the Coast of South Carolina but travel that way often on the way to my parents.

Greenville has a lot of great places but it’s been a while since I have been there.

Kitchen Sync in Greer is excellent we love the original Greenville location and the new Greer spot is just as good farm fresh creative menu with tons of vegetarian options Perfect midpoint
In Spartanburg proper try The Kennedy downtown upscale American fantastic veg choices like grain bowls or Initial Q for smoked jackfruit BBQ that is vegetarian friendly and delicious. For Greenville Friday lunch Topsoil Kitchen & Market or Aryana Afghan if you want something lighter and veg heavy. Enjoy

Sounds fun to try but apart from Fri wont work for vegetarian/pescetarian. I like all the sides they offer

Thank you Hoping we get to try Kitchen sync but definitely in G’ville for lunch so appreciate those suggestions

We’re meeting people who had booked Heirloom so great to hear it’s recommended

Can’t wait to hear about what you ate!

Didnt make it to Kitchen Sync - alas - we did stop in Greer which is a very pretty little town and had a good coffee there at Flying Fox and great pumpkin muffin. Heirloom was good - we had excellent shrimp and grits very flavorful tomato based sauce on the dish. Split a salad which was fine. Others had fried chicken which they said was very good. Others had kale salad with different proteins. I noticed they didnt each much of hte kale which looked little chewy. Got take out from Smokin Butt which was good but would have liked BBQ sauce on my brisket sandwich - I should have gone for chopped brisket. Spouse had veggie burger from burger place on same street and liked it. Wasnt a trip focused on eating - alas
