Sake

A glass of Kiminoi “Emperor’s Well” junmai sake from Niigata, at Millay in San Francisco. Dry but with some bready fruitiness and a hint of savoriness. Quite nice. It was served at room temperature.

Are you the Emperor?

I am only a peasant.

But this sake is for you.: 君の酒 (Kimi no sake) :grinning:

Ah, didn’t know that was what it meant!

At least that is my understand, in this case, 君の refer to a honorary of “Your or Yours”, as opposite to a lord’s or an emperor’s.

This looks nice. How much do you like this nama sake?

I didn’t write down notes on it but I did enjoy it, would get again.

Today I had a glass of Zaku Miyabi no Tomo ‘Nakadori’ - a junmai daiginjo from Mie, at Millay in San Francisco. It was on the “fruity and aromatic” section of the menu, and rightly so. It tasted to me a bit like a melon and/or peach flavored bubblegum. I liked it.

Takachiyo Makihata Junmai Ginjo Nama Genshu.
From Niigata. Quite sweet and rich with a lightly viscous mouthfeel. I like it.
