Saint is a fairly new addition to the SA dining scene. First off….it’s gorgeous. You walk in through a beautiful courtyard to the Spanish style building. The decor is stunning and seating is very comfortable. We were seated in a side room with a bench seat on one side and big leather chairs on the other. The place is LOUD though. We could barely hear our waiter. But we had a nice conversation with the folks at the next table, who were from Brooklyn. When you move to Florida you become instant friends with other New Yorkers. Anyway, I digress. I did not have an appetizer but hubby had the carpaccio. Peppercorn filet with balsamic reduction, artichokes, capers, pickled red onion, truffle aioli and Grana Padano. It was beautifully presented and excellent. Next, the entree. I opted for the 100 layer lasagna. Well, it wasn’t 100 layers! But it was total bolognese. No cheese or bechamel. I missed the cheese. It had parm pieces but it was more like eating pasta and meat sauce. It was ok. DH had wood fired lamb chops. Now that was excellent. The chops were served with wood fired garlic asparagus which were tender and smoky and maybe the best I’ve had. There was also a saffron risotto. Dessert was a lemoncello cheesecake. Perfect ending.
