I was deeply saddened last week to learn that Junji Aoki, owner of Junji’s Fine Japanese Cuisine in Marbelhead had passed away. I got to know Junji very well starting with his first restaurant, Sushi Isdland in Wakefield and his second place in Marblehead. Junji served some of the finest sushi and other Japanese favorites with a high degree of authenticity that is sadly lacking at many of the other so called Japanese restaurants in the Boston area. Junji paid attention to details from the quality of his sushi to the way he treated every customer. I had many happy lunches and dinners at Junji’s restaurant. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Rest in Peace Junji-san
