ROOH (San Francisco - SoMa)

Really nice Diwali family gathering at ROOH https://www.roohrestaurants.com/ with an excellent spread of many of their modernized interpretations of Indian dishes. First time at their SoMa location instead of their Palo Alto site - similar menu but the ambience at the SoMa one is much better (not just one big, loud room).


Assorted papad & crisps - variety of indian papadums with chutneys


Delhi palak patta - spinach leaf chaat, chickpea mash, chutney


Potato tikki - crispy potato hashbrown with sweet yoghurt and chutneys


Mushrooms kulcha - truffle cream


Chili garlic crab - kerala garlic pepper sauce , kaffir lime pao, fried garlic


Pulled chicken pepperfry taco - southern spiced chicken, cabbage onion slaw, curry leaf pepper podi


Assami pork ribs - baby pork ribs, sprind onion, pork rind, chili dust


Wild mushroom dosa - curry leaf dust, herb malai


Chicken butter masala - tandoor roast chicken thigh, onion-tomato sauce


Lamb shank nihari - ginger, rose, cilantro, chili oil


Daal ghosht - slow cooked lamb, lentils, potato laccha, achari chili


Sago & coconut kheer - tapioca, coconut toffee, mango punch


Kaju katli - layered cashew cake, pistachio ice cream, jaggery-peanut toffee
