Ronsky - Chestnut Hill/Boston

The discussion about the struggle of Country Mile reminded me to perhaps post more about small, excellent, independent restaurants to support them.
We always liked Ronsky in Chestnut Hill (The Street shopping mall) for his awesome paninis but more recently he decided to change his focus (not surprising knowing his background) to an dinner- only Italian place. It’s a very small place (~15 seats if it is not patio weather) and it is more or less a one-man-show - the chef is doing all the cooking (with one server doing the FOH) and it is simple, yet fantastic food. It is a small menu (which changes regularly) 4-5 appetizers (fresh house-made schiacchiata was really great, antipasti plate with some house pickles and simple salad with an addictive dressing), 4-5 pastas (all made fresh in-house - we liked our lamb ragu, lobster fettuccine and sciue sciue very much - all pastas had a great texture) and his bread pudding as dessert is still our favorite bread pudding on Boston. Nice add-on were some more unusual Italian beers.
Overall definitely worth a visit/drive and hopefully others will test him out and support such small restaurants. (Accepts credit cards but tips only in cash)
