The dessert is called “masoob fatta”. It tasted like a mix of ground bread, puréed bananas, and ghee (with cream and sliced banana on top), which is consistent with this recipe: https://chefindisguise.com/2016/06/27/masoub-yemeni-banana-bread-pudding. I enjoyed it and would recommend it because I’ve never tasted anything similar.
I REALLY liked the Arabic coffee. Obviously it’s not going to appeal to everyone (you need to really like bitter, spicy flavors and be able to handle high caffeine), but it made my day.
