Still perched firmly near the top of my GTA most favourite Cantonese Restaurant list. Ritzy Palace continues to amaze by offering top quality, well prepared dishes at a most reasonable price point. If possible, do take advantage of their Daily Special - ’ customize-your-own ’ fixed price menu. Extremely good value!
Tonight, for our party of 5 hungry adults, we choose a Peking Duck 2 ways plus two wok-hay centric dishes for the great price of only $96!..to which, we added 2 additional, wonderful a-la-carte creations. BTW, QJD, a few steps down the road charges their slightly inferiorly prepared stand-alone duck ( less visually appealing and crispy skin! ), for over $120!
One of our chosen dishes was so stunningly good, it deserve a special mentioning. The wow-worthy ’ Pan seared Filet Mignon Cubes with butter, minced garlic and Maggi glazed '! Perfectly caramelized, the beef was cooked to medium rare, the aroma mesmerizing and the taste profile…Wow!. Talk about an out-of-this-world tasty creation!..reminds me of the famous ’ Pan seared Veal minute steak ’ from Hong Kong’s famous and iconic ’ Tai-Ping-Koon ’ restaurant!
Although offering just one solitary topping option, that of a mix of Wind Dried Chinese Preserved Meat, their well crafted Clay pot rice is one of the tip-top renditions in town. Loaded generously with quality ingredients, the end product delivered a gorgeous crispy/crunchy burnt rice bottom.
The double fried, super crispy and perfectly balanced Sweet & Sour Pork was as great as usual.
Tasty, well made dishes served by friendly servers at a great price point! What more can one ask for?!
