Thierry Rautureau passed away last weekend. I worked at Rover’s briefly circa 2009; he truly loved to share food, knowledge, and champagne.

This hit me hard. RIP.
We once had a hilarious conversation about stoking a coal-fired stove as his entree to a culinary career.
Thierry seemed unique to me in the sense that his ambition stopped short of being overweening. I loved hearing him on the radio, where he, subtly, punched 'way above his weight.
He brought a lot of food pleasure and knowledge forward for a lot of people. We should all hope to be so accomplished.
