I made a reservation at Rich Table for a Sat night dinner. I saw lots of great reviews on Google Maps and just wonder if it lives up to its reputation.
Last time when I was in SF, I went to The Morris, which was truly great. On the contrary, State Bird Provisions was a complete joke.
For me, yes. I’ve been a couple times recently, my first visits since the chef change - Chef Gizella Ho runs the kitchen now, replaced chef Brandon Rice who opened Ernest in the Mission. I enjoyed my meals at RT both times, some of the classic RT dishes are still on the menu, including the savory beignets and sardine chips. And the new dishes I’ve tried have all been very good, an example being the delicious “Szechuan Pork Schnitzel” I had at my most recent visit.
Yes, I believe so. I think the RT menu has always had some Asian/fusion-y dishes though, including an uni pasta that is still on the menu. Here’s the menu from last weekend:
Thank you. After some rethinking, I canceled my RT booking and booked a table at Penny Roma instead. Fusion food is good, but can sometimes be too odd.
RT is definitely not fusion food (whatever that really means) and is still good. I would rather go to RT than Penny Roma, but I’m sure you’ll have a fine meal.
