Was asked about this, don’t remember a place in the city that has free live jazz at nights, would be glad to know if there are options and to pass the info forward Thanks
Check Officiel des Spectacles.
If you’re looking for informal free jazz performed by local musicians in a cafe setting with okay small plate food & decent drinks, we wound up spending a couple of hours at Le Julia, at 62 Rue Sedaine in the 11th (corner of Popincourt). Sees itself as a “tapas bar”, I remember it as a place to have a cocktail (or two), a plate of hummus (or fries) and listen to live jazz music for tips. It may be only once/week so check in advance. I think there are several other similar places around this area as well.
We often head over to the Café Laurent in the Hôtel d’Aubusson at 33 rue Dauphine in the 6th. It’s not the best jazz in Paris and the drinks are expensive, but there is no cover and it’s very relaxing. There are two sessions, ~ 7:30pm and 9:30pm. The program is always on the hotel’s website. They used to be open only three nights a week, but it looks like it’s now open Monday through Saturday.
