We had great smoky Margaritas with Local Mezcal, Yellow Ancho Chilies Rellenos , a Mixed Botanas Platter. Friendly folk and Delicious Food.

Nice quite Café with good Coffee and Pastries. And when we were there a very friendly Gato Negro
Great Ice cream just next to the Cathedral on the Weekends.
In general the Food in Oaxaca is pretty amazing I do not think we had a bad meal while we were there.
Tlayudas, Moles, super thin Tamales Oaxaqueños, Memelas, Empanadas Amarillo etc…

I’ve been to Oaxaca several times over the last 10 years so I have some favorites. Some of the higher end destination restaurants I go to time and again are Los Danzantes, Levadura de Olla, Tierra Del Sol, and Casa Oaxaca. I also love the vegan cafe Hierba Dulce for amazing and healthy food utilizing a lot of local ingredients. If you want to sample some mezcal and graze on snacks go to Expendio Tradicion.
