- Hunan Mifen (Milpitas) adds to Hunan Mifen (Lawrence Sunnyvale , Newark , San Mateo , San Jose , El Camino Real Sunnyvale ), the same restaurant group as Ping’s Bistro
- Northern China BBQ (SF SoMa) shaokao. Mentioned upthread too, during a recent visit, I learned the owner is from Jilin and used to run Top SF.
- Davis’s Hunan Style opened in 2022, and is an outpost of Albany’s Wojia.
Some new closures
- Yummy Time (Newark) which had Northern/Beijing style pancakes (shou zhua bing 手抓饼, jing dong pork pie, weekend breakfast.
- Simmer Huang (Newark ). Mainland Beijing-based chain whose cooking style involves simmering and stir-frying. Daly City location remains.
