Going to see a show this Saturday at the Basie. Forgot to make a reservation, where is good place to eat near the Basie as I hear its going to thunderstorm. 3 older guys not looking for a place catering to kids…Liquor licence preferred but not a deal breaker.
Thanks in Advance!

My go-to for pre-Basie shows is Greek Spot (The Restaurant), which is BYO, but a good 6 blocks away, which you may not want to risk if the weather is bad.
Perfectly acceptable and with a full bar on the next block from the theater is Jamian’s, which is a local spot - think burgers, wraps, some entrees. Will it be the most spectacular meal you’ll have this year? No - but it will get you close to the Basie; not sure if you can make a reservation or not.
Teak is another block further and that would also work for you - a little more upscale and if you go earlier, it WILL be packed because of their Happy Hour.
Bottom line is that the earlier you go to RB the better, and the more you can eat/drink without rushing. ETA that’s unless you’re willing to Uber/taxi from other areas of RB.
Wound up going to Teak. conveniently located to Basie shared a bunch of small and big plates.
Hamachi Crudo, Drunken Noodles?, some sushi rolls all pretty decent.
Also had short rib tacos and a Large plate Short Ribs with roasted sweet potatoes.
The sweet potatoes were the most memorable! Both Short rib dishes, the short ribs were dissapointingly dry…but seriously I’m quibbling. Had a good night great concert. Saw the Pretenders first time in over forty years.
