Wahine’s annual trade show is in Anaheim next week. What’s really good there and what makes it so? All ethnicities, genres, pricepoints/socio-economic strata are welcome. Artificiality and gimmickry, not so much.
Mahalo,

In Anaheim itself, Napa Rose (in the Disney Resort itself) is really pretty good. Near by you’ll find The Ranch Restaurant, and a new, hip food court called The Packing House. There’s a Portillo’s there too. It’s the SoCal outpost of the Chicago outfit known for hot dogs and beef sandwiches. But… Anaheim is pretty close to some of the best Asian food in SoCal (not San Gabriel Valley good, but very good). Brodard (in Garden Grove is top-rated. Then there’s Taco Maria and Marche Moderne, both in Costa Mesa. Playground is in Santa Ana, along with some really good Mexican spots.
Nothing I’m mentioning is much more than 30 minutes from Anaheim’s Convention Center, but there’s lots more in the area.
Your close to Westminster and Garden Grove for some of the best Vietnamese…evah!
Taco Maria gets lots of love in the OC…
Aloha Kaleo!
EaterLA’s most recent list has great options for Vietnamese in the OC…just a stone’s throw away from Anaheim.
Digging this up because I am spending the four or five days at the conference center. No car, but I am a big fan of ordering delivery to hotels. I guess I’ll be looking for Vietnamese food!
Walkable from the conference center will also work, but I often feel like a “sucker” when I patronize restaurants near conference centers.
Ho0ing not to have to pack some tuna.
This previous post about hand held foods for Disneyland would be a good starting point.
I ordered from both “Carrot and Daikon”,
and at the suggestion of GrubHub, which is now in cahoots with Amazon Prime,
I don’t know how I ended up with two Banh Mi and no napkins, but I am really enjoying the grilled pork version, and the pickled veg. I think the other might be ground pork.
Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Pot Stickers
Chicken Dumplings (10 each)

My delivery guy was a “Biggy” fan. They apparently needed a picture of me holding the food, so I took a picture too.
