Recommended pizza spots in Toronto GTA

Ended up ordering a 8 mile custom pizza due to dietary restrictions as guests felt like having something. I tried a little despite being full. Not my style but if one enjoys this will do. Not as greasy and softer edges as described by @DrJohn

My fav is Dispotino which is temporarily closed but will reopen in the fall. Also like Big Trouble. Badiali is just ok since the dough takes too much chewing for me

Spotted in Pape Village - Lorenzo’s Pizzeria on Pape just a block north of Serano Bakery. Small spot with a few counter stools but very impressive looking slices for the price point “in this economy”.

@Phoenikia I know you mentioned slices, perhaps one to add to the list.

No wasted space on that Lorenzo’s menu. Love it.

I ordered a medium NY cheese pizza along with the regular Margherita from North of Brooklyn as it was on promo. Went well. Hmmm for delivery I think north of Brooklyn is among the best as it even reheats well

North of Brooklyn pepperoni is favourite NY Style pizza in GTA. I like Badliali’s vodka, but not their pepperoni, mainly because I hate how they spread the sauce over their pizzas. Excellent dough though.

North of Brooklyn
On a recent visit by friends out of town we ended up at the original location in Queen Street West. Doesn’t get any fresher (hotter) than that as we almost burnt our mouth as the pizza was right out of the oven. Friend’s really loved it and as having moved out from Toronto a few years ago mentioned how much they miss it. Also gone is the seating so do keep this in mind if visiting this location

Never bothered with seating at the standalone locations - always recommend either Greater Good (Geary Ave) for west-enders, and Better Half (Danforth & Greenwood) for east-enders. Both are sit-down bars whose kitchens are operated by NoB.

At Better Half they even have table service and run the pizzas to you - Greater Good you go up to order and take a number and they run it to your table.

Nice slices ready to go at Pizzeria Fornace on Bloor West of Bathrust. Around $7 per serving, which includes 2 rectangles.

I tried the Capricciosa (ham, olive and artichoke) and the Mushroom Mascarpone.

Recent pickup from 8Mile Detroit Style Pizza
I chose the chef’s special. Heavy on dough but pleasant nonetheless. The toppings are light and not overly oily so balanced out nicely. The dough is decent a well (for reference I didn’t enjoy levant pizza at all)

I tried the Margherita from Pizzeria Fornace at Bloor and Bathurst. I don’t love the tomato pizza sauce as much as other tomato pizza sauces elsewhere.

There is one single basil leaf placed on each piece of Margherita pizza, and what you see is the half of the slice I purchased, cut into 2 pieces, without basil.

I will keep ordering the white pizzas. The tiramisu is good, too.

Does North of Brooklyn have any “must try” pizzas / pies they’re famous for? I’m heading there tomorrow.

Apparently the “must try” at Badiali is their vodka sauce pizza but when we went, we sampled three… none of them being the vodka sauce. :squinting_face_with_tongue: In my defence, the others looked more interesting. Don’t want to make the same mistake again.

I just like their pepperoni. I did not like their marg and I think their vodka is inferior to Badiali.

Hmmm north of Brooklyn my go to is Margarita with extra cheese and sun dried tomatoes.
Badiali hmmm I liked the one with burrata on top which doesn’t travel at all IMO.
