I’ll be visiting Sanibel this winter. Any recent recommendations for good restaurants there?
I’m not sure what’s still there but the Lazy Flamingo had excellent wood cooked grouper with a nice Caesar – also oysters in the half shell. A detailed description is on my blog.
I also went to Traditions in or near the Island Inn – good food and very good live entertainment. We also ended up staying in Fort Myers and stying at the Luminary, which we enjoyed. We ate at a number of places in town – Cubans be Like (Get the seafood, not the Cuban), 1025 where I had a delicious Big Easy – basically a shrimp po’ boy, and good ice cream at Scoops on First. We ended up trapped downtown by the parade for the Edison Light Festival, which was great fun and enlivened by some people wandering around as part of some detective game for which teams dress up in costumes – often very clever and elaborate. costumes. There were people in realistic '20s costumes and other gear. I also have a recommendation for Heavenly Biscuits there.
