We went to the Head of the Charles on Sunday, which Spring Onion enjoyed. After catching most of the women’s 4’s, it was time for lunch. SO’s first choice, Shake Shack was unsurprisingly an s#!t show so we hopped across Winthrop to Grendel’s. B and I hadn’t been in there in ages and B had never eaten inside (it was a bit windy otherwise, we would’ve eaten outside…the patio is still open for dining). Nothing earth-shattering but reliable, big portions for small change. We just beat the crowd. Potato skins with brisket for B, Salvadoran veggies and tofu (fine, a bit boring, not sure what made it particularly Salvadoran but I’m certain I’ve ordered this before), good cup of lentil soup, hot dog for SO. Excuse the weird lighting.
Monday, B and I headed down to RI for more errands at the vacation house. Lunch outside at Xoco Taco on that beautiful sunny day. Chips and guacamole to start; mushroom and vegan cauliflower taco pair for me; carnitas, barbacoa, al pastor set for B. The cauliflower was especially good and surprisingly rich, which a peanutty salsa and a cashew cream. We headed back to Boston, both happy campers.
