Quebec city at the end of November

I just found out that Quebec City hosts an annual German Christmas market. Big J and I will be heading out at the end of November to visit.

Apart from the Frontenac (which is in a super location), is there another convenient and comfortable place to stay? I actually wouldn’t mind an apartment with a kitchen, but it’s not essential. I’d love to hear your recommendations.

If location is your criterion then try Auberge du Tresor - almost right opposite the Frontenac.
That used to be my standard choice, although I’ve now switched to the ‘lower town’ as being closer to the train station (I now travel by rail). Also, if I’m out dining (?drinking) it’s easier to get home ‘downhill’ !

We were just there in October. We stayed here. Located just inside
the old city with easy access to everything. It is not big but we both felt it was the best hotel mattress we’d ever slept on. A very adequate breakfast was included with crepes available on request and small
bar for a night cap.
We drove from the Boston area and parking was free. Would definitely recommend them.

We had a great time (still working on the write up for posting). Wish we had a Simon’s Department store nearby!

I’ve heard about that Christmas Market.

We stayed at Hotel Pur just outside the old town on our last visit. . It was modern and clean.

It was cheaper than the Frontenac, and when we visited, I was very keen on collecting Marriott Points.

I would like to stay at Auberge St Antoine some day.

I have also stayed on the Ile d’Orleans. It looks like the hotel where we had breakfast the last time is closed in November

Les Ancetres Auberge , this place is open. I have not visited it yet.
