Has anyone been? Which dishes do you enjoy the most.
Pür and Simple has taken over some Cora’s locations in southwestern Ontario
Visited by mistake in Halifax earlier this year not realizing it was a chain. Of course just one visit so can’t make sweeping statements, but my visit wasn’t memorable. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out as above-average about it either.
I did some short research after - the founder has no culinary background and owned a marketing agency before starting Pur & Simple, which absolutely checks out.
I find brunch/breakfast spots start to blend together unless they really stand out with house-made sauces, artisan breads, presentation, etc, and once you’re at 50+ locations like they are, that’s not feasible.
You can sit me down in an OEB, Cora, Eviva, or Pur & Simple and I’d probably forget which is which.

They are pretty similar! I am outside Toronto right now, so the cute independent breakfast café is not an option today.
I go to Sunset Grill maybe once a year, for a greasy spoon omelette.
I only went to Evviva once, maybe 10 years ago, and haven’t been to Cora’s in a decade! I still haven’t been to OEB.
