Pub crawl in Pearl River, NY - Gildea's et al

Quick report about our trip to Pearl River last weekend. We were looking for a cute place near Nanuet to have a pre-St. Patrick’s day celebration with some friends (ond of whom is Irish American) and stumbled upon Pearl River, one of the most Irish places in the US by percentage of population. Who knew?

Anyway, we started at Gildea’s for lunch, an adorable, cozy pub with excellent fish and chips and Smithwick’s on tap. We then headed down the street to Mickey’s (total dive with crap beer), stopped into the Gracie Rose for some Irish snack foods and gifts, then finished up at Noonan’s, which was lively but a bit frat-boy for my taste. Honestly, we would have been better off staying at Gildea’s the whole time, but it was a fun afternoon nonetheless. We’ll return to Gildea’s for sure!
