Would you consider using tangerines instead? Squeeze and freeze zest and juice for use in May? They do look lovely!

I can use whatever citrus I want - do you think switching the citrus out makes it less duplicative ?

Yes, particularly if you use tangerine/ orange family. The bright orange color would also be distinctive and not similar to the lemon Bundt.

That was going to be my suggestion, too. Plus that way you get over the expectation of them being lemon bars.

.I think especially if you used orange (or tangerine) + vanilla — people do find that “creamsicle” flavor irresistible — it would be sufficiently different in flavor from your lemon cake. Add to that the different texture.

Yea.

I had a tentative plan that the bundts would be lemon, orange and pistachio/choc, but I might swap the orange bundt for something else non-citrus.

MiG, would you also consider a berry Bundt which would be different again. SK has a berry Bundt that is an adaptation of Rustic Desserts rhubarb Bundt. Not suggesting rhubarb but maybe blue/raspberry combo.

I’ve made that recipe a lot. It’s the only style of bundt that sometimes sticks for me, so there’s a risk factor.

Strange that! I have also made it frequently but I don’t have a sticking problem with the fruit.

I add the raspberries in several layers in a circle around the tube, keeping fruit away from the sides and center tube.
I added a ring of raspberries around base of cake at destination.

My avatar is that very cake in fact !

Do you mean the party Bundt? You could possibly also use the ring mold which you keep threatening to use :joy:!
I think your avatar might be a different mold, Heritage, maybe?

I don’t understand your question , sorry.

Which part?

“Do you mean the party bundt?” Not sure what you are asking.

OH I think I get it now.

Did you not say your avatar was that very cake…which is the Party Bundt cake mold , or am I missing something in the interpretation?

I think I’ve made the SK berry bundt in multiple styles of bundt pan. In my avatar, it’s in a heritage pan.

Are you doing anything almondy? A similar bar with almond might be nice.

Good idea.

Those loom so good and perfect! Other citrus candidates? Lime, grapefruit, fancy orange?
