I would love to have a prep sink, anywhere in my kitchen. The layout is perfect but there is absolutely no possibility of remodeling at this point. I would need just a bit of counterspace next to the sink, preferably on the left side. I have a double sink (smaller one on the right side) and a peninsula on the left. My fridge is behind me, and stove top/oven/microwave to my right. Perfect triangle, and all cabinets/drawers are organized so I move from left to right in use.
I say–if you can make it work logistically, go for it.
Ack, too late, I went w/uninterrupted counter/prep space. December construction moved to January, now I’m wondering if it will be done in February. We started research/planning eighteen months ago. I’m mentally finished. How do people build whole houses?? I can’t make another decision and I’m a designer. Laugh.
Oops, gotta go decide on a bullnose profile. ;-(.
Thanks for your input. Time may prove you right. (In which case the plumbing will remain behind the cabinetry and an insert can be removed to accommodate a prep sink on down the road. Hedging my bets.)
