Potato chip flavors all over the world

I found these in my office canteen. I’ve never had mustard potato chips before, and these are really good–absolutely addictive. They’d be perfect with hot dogs or other sausages. Despite the “Simple Southern Goodness” label, they’re now made by Utz in Pennsylvania.

Utz is gobbling up regional chipmakers right and left. They bought Zapp’s, a personal favorite, and from what I can tell have not changed any recipes.

Did not know that. You’re right that the Zapp’s chips still taste the same (excellent, IMO).

I like how the company is using zapps spices on twisty pretzels. Going after the Dot’s market!

I’d try the pickle chips. All those meat / meal-flavored chips make me nauseous just thinking about it.

At Fiesta Farms in Toronto.

I picked up the Ancienne/plain and Aioli flavours.

Nice, I love the range of their crisps, which I tend to indulge in when visiting my mum. The SuperU has so many of these but I’ve never seen the BBQ there, nor the Chorizo or Beurre Persillé. But I’m surprised it has as many as it does because that SuperU is a bit shit.

I saw a few of these near me last week - remember the pesto mozzarella. There was also Camembert.

The meaty flavors sound good – roast chicken (tried in the UK – weird but good), tartiflette, carbonade, chorizo.

Will keep an eye out in case the store here rotates flavors.

These were inoffensive enough flavor-wise, but when I poured them into a bowl to share with our fellow card sharps, this popped out:

It looks like a chicken nugget or dog biscuit that got lost in the wrong packaging, but it’s not.

Can you guess what it is? :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

Lump of Seasoning

Bingo.

And :face_vomiting:

You can pulverize it and have “Brazilian Garlic” whatever :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Brilliant!

I liked the Aioli Brets chips a lot.

The plain ones seem more thinner, more delicate and crispier than Classic Lays. I don’t mind the sunflower oil used. They seem greasier than Italian or Canadian plain potato chips.

I tried the Matsuyama Puffl Garlic Ajillo Tasted Corn Snack yesterday. It’s kind of potato chip adjacent as its made of puffed corn. They were pretty good - strong garlic flavor with a cheese puff texture. Kind of tasted like the sauce in gambas al ajillo.

EVOO-fried chips from Jose Andre, made in Spain. No exotic flavors, just decent potato chips.
