I am so sorry to hear this! She is such a caring Onion. It sounds like she was lucky to be in the ER when she was and was able to get treatment ASAP! How scary.
Best wishes for a good recovery @LindaWhit!

Hope you are feeling better soonest, @LindaWhit. Grateful to @linguafood for keeping us all updated.
P.S. If thereâs anything I can do to help your recovery (I believe I am not so far away geographically), feel free to DM me. Sometimes we all need a hand when life stuff happens.
Thanks to all of you for your healing good wishes. Itâs been a pretty rough couple of days, but Iâm slowly on the mend. Iâm just REALLY tired and have been for several days.
The first two stents are doing their job. Not sure when Iâll be discharged, but Iâll know more after talking with the doctors about the 3rd stent.
For women, mostlyâŚPLEASE remember that heart attacks often present differently in women. Itâs not always the âclutch your chestâ type of pain. Iâve been dealing with this for several weeks (chest pressure and shortness of breath) but until they could do an EKG while the pain was happening, they couldnât confirm. It was a surprise to all, and the Medical Emergency Team (MET) alert immediately sprang into action.
So, if youâre not feeling normal, please have it checked out.
Iâve been under really good care in the Cardiac ICU and hope to be moved to a âregularâ room today. Nurses are the heart and soul of a hospital, and mine have all been wonderful, kind, and helpful.
Thank you again for all your good wishes. You donât know how much it means to me.
So glad you are doing better! Yay!
Thank you for taking the time and energy for the update!
This is very good news. And thereâs a whole episode of Grayâs Anatomy about a female surgeon (Miranda Bailey, if youâre a fan of the show) trying to convince doctors (who she doesnât know) that sheâs having a heart attack, because as you say, heart attacks often present differently in women.
Wishing you a speedy return to health and strength!
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
Iâm so glad that you are out of danger, and slowly on the mend!
Please take care of yourself. At the very least you should take the rest of the year off, and slowly start thinking about retirement, if financially viable. Your type of job just sounds too stressful for your health.
Thanks so much for the update LW! Glad you are on the mend! And you are oh so right about nurses.
So glad youâre on the mend and in good hands.
Yes, the signs of heart attacks in women are often different from what we know from âpop cultureâ heart attacks in men. Itâs always surprising to me that this hasnât become more widely known. I didnât learn about it until I was about 50 . . . and I had more opportunities than most to have heard about it!
Iâm not a doctor but . . . .
Pain - chest pain possibly but in women it can be pain in the back, neck, jaw, or arm
Sweating - sometimes with hot flashes sometimes cold clammy sweating
Fatigue/weakness - which is often dismissed or attributed to âlife stressâ
Nausea/Vomiting/Indigestion - often dismissed as well
very different from the âclutch your chestâ and âshooting pain in the left armâ in men!
Thank you for the update! Healing thoughts flying your way from No. VirginiaâŚ
So good to hear from you and that youâre picking up. But I have a questionâŚ
WHATâS FOR DINNER?
Well, Tuesday I went with breakfast for dinner: scrambled eggs & Swiss omelet (of sorts) and toast. Wasnât allowed any bacon. Last night was a sad (but at least filling!) grilled chicken and Swiss sandwich, applesauce, ginger ale, and a brownie.
Went with French Toast and coffee for breakfast. Best meal so far.
