Pina Colada's back story

Went full throttle on several Pina Colada versions. My fav so far is with kiwi and lime juice without rum was just as tasty.

Supermarkets in my area that sell alcohol (Wegmans) have individual frozen cocktails, in a flat rectangular packet with a spout. When I bought fresh fish on a day I’d forgotten the ice gelpak for my little cooler, I bought a frozen strawberry daiquiri. It stayed cold long enough to get the fish home, and was by then ready to drink. It was quite good.

I remember getting a pack of frozen Mike’s Hard Lemonade somewhere back in NY eons ago. They were like grown-up versions of those liquid popsicles that you’d put in the freezer. When you were ready to have one, you’d squeeze the pack to mix all the ice.

Sigh. We have no alcohol in grocery stores at all, or in Costco, or TJ’s, in my state.

We don’t even have TJ’s. We have never had 2 buck chuck. I think the cheapest wine I’ve seen in Canada has been Chilean red wine for $7.80 Cdn/ bottle (around $5.67 USD)

I quit Canadian Costco about 9 years ago, before grocery stores in Ontario carried beer, and before grocery stores started carrying better quality wines.
