I know that, if you skip starters, and go straight for main courses, then you’re going to have to wait for food for a while. But nearly an hour - CMON!
A few minutes before the plates arrived, bread was served. Nowt special but served with a really nice tapenade as well as butter. And when the food arrived, it was fine. Chicken breast had been wrapped in prosciutto and nicely roasted, so the ham had crisped and the bird was still moist. It came with new potatoes, mixed greens, carrots and gravy. Two sea bass fillets were also nicely cooked- and, unlike many places, the skin had been crisped. There’s summer veg in the form of aubergine, and courgette and what I’d think of as a “puttanesca” sauce – tomato, olives, chilli.
We both ordered the same dessert – a raspberry pannacotta. Lovely fresh flavour but overly set so none of the traditional wobble to it.
