Peter Luger given a -0- stars review by NY Times..........(can't say I blame them)

I owned 2 restaurants and I agree… dining out is my preference.

As Abraham Lincoln said, don’t believe everything you read on the Internet

Keen’s # 1 for Mutton! (Waiter did NOT appreciate my joke that my mother taught me Keen’s Got nutin’ on her mutton!!) I quit PL’s a long time ago when I met Ben and Jack Synoji(?) from Ben and Jack’s Steakhouse. Ex-PL alumni waiters & cousins from PL’s that started their own brand and expanded to Empire Steakhouse.
(undated pic below)

For me Sparks was the best NYC steakhouse ambiance wise however they over salted their steaks. (bonus points Castellano etc) Palm (I&Ii) - Smith W. - Del Fresco (WAY TOO LOUD) all too crowded and -0- ambiance.

Empire’s perfects the ambiance/service of Sparks and the taste /quality of PL with the BS. East 50th is the best location with the BEST boutique hotel/rooftop bar in Manhattan, The Kimberly. I’ve been a life long NY Palace (Helmsley) customer and The Kimberly stole me away.

PL has been living on reputation since probably before I discovered them circa 1992. Fun fact: I had the privilege and dream of owning my own Prime/aged on premise steakhouse in Monmouth County NJ, then called The Manhattan Steakhouse! Was truly a dream come true, hopefully a few more to come in life!

Daughter 21st bday Empire Steakhouse and weekend at The Kimberly. (this is the wine room)
