so, since opening at high street, they’ve kept the somerville location open — i suppose for us locals who stuck with them through the pandemic — but with very limited hours (friday, saturday 11-5). while not always convenient, i would stop by for my porchetta fix when i could. — which i did today
what a disappointment. first off: no porchetta their * raison d’etre* so i ordered a small caesar, which according to the online menu was kale, but in reality was just some chopped romaine drowning in what i suspect was some very salty bottled dressing — not a crouton in sight — and some shaved parm (probably from the supermarket). also ordered fried chicken which, while perfectly cooked, had absolutley no seasoning — none! guess it was supposed to balance out the salad dressing.
pretty clear they’re not even trying — just going through the motions. and from the handful of yelp reviews, the high street location isn’t much of an improvement.
a real shame — have to wonder where it all went wrong. but, it was nice while it lasted, but all good things must past.
