[Penang] Ah Hai Koay Teow Th'ng @ Kimberley Street

Ah Hai’s food truck at the intersection of Kimberley Street and Cintra Street offers one of the most popular hawker food options along Kimberley Street in the evenings.

Ah Hai started off as a mom-and-pop operation, but has since grown into an efficient team with 4-5 helpers to accommodate the demands of their large clientele. Owner, Khor Kim Hai aka Ah Hai was born & bred on Kimberley Street, but inherited the recipe from his father-in-law. His wife’s sister and brother-in-law run an older but equally popular “koay teow th’ng” stall at the Jelutong morning market.

Ah Hai’s “koay teow th’ng” - a light, flavoursome pork broth, with flat rice noodles, fish balls, slivers of fish-cake, minced pork, pork slices, pig’s liver, scallions and golden, crisp-fried pork lardons.
