We drove up to the Russian River area yesterday and stopped for lunch in Guerneville because our daughter and SIL had stayed and eaten there recently (Dawn Ranch, Pat’s International) and loved it.
Pat’s is on Main St and looks like someone’s 1950s rec room (knotty pine and deer heads). There’s a counter, booths, and tables. It was pretty empty while we were there, but the people who did come in were definitely locals and regulars. Friendly service by the one server there. The vibe was very low key and chill which was a welcome break from this week’s parade of intense election emotions. They serve breakfast all day and lunch after 11:00.
What can you say about a place where you can order an excellent freshly made cinnamon sugar donut as an appetizer???! I don’t care for donuts normally but fresh and hot? It’s a whole different ball game. I had the (jack and cheddar) cheese omelette with spinach and mushrooms with locally made seeded sourdough toast, no potatoes. My husband had the burger with a side of wedge cut fries. Both were expertly cooked and unbelievably good! I’m already planning on what I’m going to order next time - posole, Korean fried chicken - too many possibilities.
Wonderful place. I could have hung around all afternoon. Maybe we’ll move to Guerneville so we can eat at Pat’s more often.
