I live in a part of the country where the nearest you get to patisserie is a Chorley Cake and a Jammy Dodger.
So I was gobsmacked tp go in to my local Sainsbury’s today, to see that the bakery section has been expanded to include a decent selection of Patisserie Valerie products. Yes, I know it’s a chain but, flippin’ 'eck, there’s lovely looking cakes. The Portuguese custard tarts looked the absolute business. But my after dinner treat with coffee tonight will be a slice of Selva. Chocolate sponge, cream, zabaliogne flavoured cream, topped with strawberries.
Apparently it’s a trial for 3 months to see how it goes. Fingers crossed…
