My Sunday plans have been cancelled so I thought there is no time like the present to share the potential list of restaurants I have collated for next year’s Paris trip, if you haven’t read my latest post, I had such a fabulous time in Paris in July this year I have decided to spend a month in Paris in July 2026. The list of restaurants I have curated for this trip are as follows:
Bistrot des Tournelles 4th
Chez Paul 11th
Parcelles 3rd

Les Collonges 18th (Meg from Paris by Mouth highly recommends in a recent review)
Chantoiseau* 18th (I was a bit harsh in my review - it was in the first week of my trip but there was a lot of recommend it, so it is on the list - for the time being)
Dined there last year
I am trying where practical to dine in the same location I am staying, I love the idea of walking to a local neighbourhood restaurant, and I think for the most part the arrondissements / locations I have chosen should work well for that - 3rd/11th, 7th and 18th.
I have added more bistro/traditional restaurants to this list than last year to have a different experience, so any recommendations in that vein would be much appreciated.
Happy eating and looking forward to your wonderful recommendations!!!
I am not a fan of Chez Dumonet, but others rave about it. There’s just too much food and while they don’t mind you sharing, it’s still too much, and there’s nothing “wow” about it.
We liked Chantoiseau, but you may have been there more recently. With so many choices, I think the only time I would give a place a second chance (if I didn’t care for it the first time) is if it were super convenient. But maybe I’m misinterpreting your comment.
Hi Paula, apologies I did not see your response, thank you for the feedback. I did enjoy Chantoiseau, my harshness was the fact that I rated it 7/10, probably deserved an 8/10. It was the 2nd restaurant I visited and came after disappointing dinner at Perception. Having said that I have found another restaurant I am going to try instead as it was not in my top 5 and there are so many options available, so it is off the list - for now (I noted @onzieme favourable review on Substack which made me pause and rethink my decision), cheers.
Happy New Year (a little bit late in the month but I think it still counts - lol).
I have updated my restaurant list after doing further research, keen for your thoughts

@onzieme, I have been reading your restaurant reviews on Substack (thank you!!!) and it has helped to clarify my thinking, and this feels like a more comprehensive well-rounded list. Also, Le Bon Saint Pourcain appears to not use a booking platform for reservations. Do they take bookings by email or by phone? If anyone can provide an answer it would be much appreciated.
