I’m sorry, I hate being SO ridiculously vague - but I’ll try to be more specific
Paris is my favorite city in the world - and I’m going to spend 3 nights there in June while I’m in London.
I LOVE soufflés - is Le Recamier a good choice? I
The second night and lunch will be the most difficult. I don’t know when I’m going to return, so I’d love a special dinner - not necessarily fancy, but someplace I can look back on as unforgettable - maybe because of the surroundings, etc…(but the food has to be good)
I’m staying on Ile Ste Louis, my favorite part of the city, and there have been a few recommendations there…
Josephine Chez Dumonet was going to be a must, but boeuf bourguinon in Summer is probably not a great idea. I did enjoy Paul Bert a few years ago. I
My niece loved Le Petit Lutetia, and I’ve seen good reviews for Le Saint Sébastien.
A setting that I think is memorable is completely downscale: sitting at the counter at Les Enfants du Marché inside covered Marché des Enfants Rouges. An only-in-Paris experience. Market-driven menu, constantly changing.
Even if you don’t eat there, the market is a wonderful place to visit any time of day.
I’ve read nothing but raves about Alliance - considering everything, it seems a relative bargain for lunch
However, with no menu - even a sample one- there’s no way I could justify spending that kind of money; it’s possible there’s nothing I would eat. By no means am I a picky eater, but the things I don’t like…I don’t like a lot, lol
The chef at Alliance is very, very flexible, often cooking different things for different tables. Just let them know what you don’t like when you make the reservation.
Onzieme, oh that’s great - and then you leave it in the chef’s hands. I’ve never had a meal like that - fine dining, yes, but not where you just cede control…
I can’t think of a better place to do that than in Paris!
