[Palo Alto] Kabsa at Real Produce Market

Real Produce Market is a little market on El Camino near Cal Ave. The market opened last year in the same space that two previous higher end market failed badly. These guys filled a void in Palo Alto and had various foodstuff from around Jordan/ Syria/ Turkey and the Arabian peninsula and survived the first year in business and seemed to have built a customer base from the international student population around that area. Today I had to stop by and find something for lunch real quick today and I went to get something from their deli.

They always have kabob, sandwich, hummus, baba ghanoush, etc. the standard med fare. And its never particularly exciting. Today I noticed they had kabsa and maglouba. I got a medium size tub of kabsa at $7.99. I don’t really see kabsa often in the Bay Area. So I was delighted to find that their version was delicious. Each grain was infused by a delightful aroma. I finished the whole mid size tub in five minutes.

I will have to try the maglouba next time.
