Going down there for a few days. We’ve never been, and we’ll be staying downtown. Any favorites? I’m packing my mink stole and gold lame bathing suit…
Real deli at Sherman’s.
Palm Springs used to have a street market on Thursday evenings, which can be kind of fun. It’s been several years since we went, but they usually have a lot of food vendors, as well as handmade goods. Considering it’s PS, you’ll probably fit right in if you strolled the market in your gold lame bathing suit and mink stole!
Thanks. I forgot the rhinestone cat-eye sunglasses and some pink marabou mules.
If you really want to stand out, wear a dog collar and leash, too.
Sorry - too many accessories…And they would conflict with the overall vibe.
Bingo!!!
Somewhere I have a picture of my step daughter and her husband, he’s in the spiked dog collar, she has the leash.
I have a few favorites as I live close by. Although I’ve never been, I hear the thrift stores are really great if you’re into mid century and have room for fabulous finds.
Elmers’s for Reuben sandwich and breakfast. Good food and service but busy and pretty noisy.
Tac/Quila for upscale Mexican food and drinks. Fabulous bar and patio.
Eight4Nine is a repurposed post office. Their fried chicken sandwich is amazing. They also have patio dining but I’ve only sat inside.
Wilma and Frieda is another breakfast/brunch place. Upstairs and open to the elements. Cute place. Good Bennies. No reservations.
Have a great time. I hope it’s not windy for you.
I’ve heard the same thing WRT thrift stores and consignment shops. A former co-worker’s daughter lived somewhere in the Inland Empire, and Judy would visit fairly regularly and they’d go thrifting just about every time. She said they’d find some really great stuff that ran the gamut: clothing, furniture, kitchenware, you name it. Apparently the next of kin of the second homers that passed would clean out Mom & Dad’s PS place and the stuff would end up in thrift/consignment shops, sometimes at pennies on the dollar.
