Really. I hadn’t seen that yet.

And perhaps blindness. https://www.prevention.com/health/a63774334/ozempic-blindness-weight-loss-drugs/

Since I committed to eating cleaner–and less–in 2025, and going to the gym, I’ve found I don’t consume nearly the alcohol I was consuming. My monthly gym dues are far less than I was spending on booze and beer. I set a personal limit of one drink a day, and in practice it’s been more like 2/week.

I will have some blood tests next month, including A1C and the fasting blood sugar. I’m hoping these are back in normal ranges. If not, I’d consider a GLP-1 blocker, but I’m not there yet given how new the drugs are.

These drugs are GLP1 agonists/activators, not antagonists/blocker

Just some personal observations here, with a bit of history…
I managed to avoid getting Covid until September of 2023, when I got it, and had the classic 7-10 day course of being sick as hell. I found that after Covid I really was not interested in alcohol much, and would only have a drink occasionally. After my initial recovery from Covid, I developed a pneumonia, profound fatigue, and shortness of breath with the slightest exertion. I was diagnosed with a cardiomyopathy after Covid. After several months of being treated for heart failure from the cardiomyopathy, a GLP1 agonist, in this case Ozempic was started to the medical regimen. During this time, I really wasnt interested in alcohol much as I was dealing with the fatigue that the heart failure brought on. Once Ozempic was started, my interest in alcohol went to zero. I’l have a sip of my wife’s glass of wine or beer, but otherwise have no interest in alcohol at all. Before Covid I was a social drinker, having a mixed drink or glass of wine with dinner, and rather enjoyed it of course, now the idea of alcohol does nothing for me Covid initiated my lack of desire for anything to drink, and Ozempic just killed any desire I have for it.

These are my own observations about the GLP1 agonists, but certainly is in line with what others have reported. Just as they take away the desire or cravings for food…it took away all of my desires for demon rum.

I wonder if this drug has a similar effect on people who take medical cannabis for any number of reasons, which would be a disadvantage. Drinking less alcohol is a positive for sure.
