[Osaka, Japan] Very good pastries and pate de fruit at Acidracines

After a walk through the very vast Osaka Castle grounds, we went to Acidracines, a French patisserie located in Temmabashi, Osaka, founded by Futoshi Hashimoto. The chef has been internationally profiled. The shop is in a residential neighborhood, and offer exceptional quality patisserie and sweets.

A large collection awaited inside. The quality was on par with the best back home. I am also quite picky about pate de fruit, and I will put theirs at the top. All fruity gelatin goodness.

Their prices were definitely on the high side for Japan, but their goods were worth every yen.

For a bread-focused version of such a shop, try Wadanote in Osaka, my favorite bakery. You can find on Instagram or search on Google for わだのおと. It’s a small, neighborhood bakery.

How did you find this bakery?

Back in 2018 we had rented an AirBnB in a random residential neighborhood in Osaka. We were just living there, grocery shoping and exploring, and every day we would pass by this shop. The name written outside was “Wadanote”, so we assumed it was a stationary shop. On the last day of our trip, we finally stepped in and it was love at first sight.
