Alta Coffee Roasters opened on Mass Ave in Arlington Center, just across from the Whole Foods and a block from Butternut Bakehouse. As of now, they only sell beans. I spent some time chatting with the owner when I wandered in yesterday and he seems very earnest and very sustainability focused. While you can’t buy a brewed coffee, he gave me a taste from a jug of the espresso roast he had brewed and it was excellent. You can bring your own jar or container and purchase beans with a small discount compared to buying a (compostable) bag of beans.
