For those in the city who don’t want to always go up to Markham/Richmond Hill for a decent Chinese restaurant, you now have another alternative.
Joyous Chinese Cuisine opened last week taking over from where Paradise Fine Chinese Dining used to reside at the plaza on the NE corner of Finch & Leslie in North York. The owner of Joyous we knew because they also own Orient Bistro in Richmond Hill. They do not yet have a liquor license.
We went there both for lunch (dim sum) and dinner. Decor is modern, food is fine, better than Orient Bistro and way better than Paradise. Even though it’s a soft opening, they were full capacity both lunch (on Sunday) and dinner (on Monday), so clearly the word has already spread.
