The old Hog’s Apothecary space on 40th Street in Temescal is now Magpie. The decor hasn’t changed much, but the menu is focused more on pizzas and calzones; they also have a few sandwiches (including a burger) and several small plates. Prices are in the high teens/low 20s for pizza, and the burger is $14 (don’t know if that includes fries). There are fewer beers and more ciders available, including cider flights.

Ba-Bite, owned and run by Israeli chef Mica Talmor from 2015 to 2018, is now Pomella . It is one of three new tenants in the old Chow space, across and down the street from the original location.
The opening had been in the works for many months, and Talmor felt she could start with a limited takeout and delivery menu.
