NYC Restaurant Week runs thru Aug. 18th...

Summer restauant weeks in NYC are back starting July 24th. Restos are offering special 3-course luncheons for $29, and 3-course dinners for $42. Anyone taking advantage? What are some of the better picks?

Although we don’t do Restaurant Weeks, many of our favorite spots are participating this summer: Le Coq Rico, The Clocktower, Café Boulud, Vaucluse, Ai Fiori, Benoit, Rotisserie Georgette, Cherche Midi, dbBistro Moderne, ilili, and Craft. Their RW menus are not dumbed down, they offer appealing choices, and the food will assuredly be prepared to high standards.

Batard (3 NY Times stars and a Michelin) is participating for the first time, doing lunch only. We had dinner there twice right after they opened and while the food was superb, we haven’t been back because I found the noise level incredibly high. But if that won’t bother you, it’s a great choice. Also participating for the first time is untitled, in the Whitney Museum. We had a delicious lunch there. Fowler & Wells opened within the past year. The dinner we had there a few months ago was excellent. Finally, Tuome is worth it just for the “Pig Out.”

Thanks, Roz for your summary. Several of these spots like Clocktower, Le Coq Rico and Benoit have been on my master NYC dining list as well. Have done untitled and enjoyed. Funny, somehow that list never gets any shorter…
