" You go to McSorley’s because of the insane fact that it was established in 1854, and because it was memorialized in print by that great-souled laureate of the New York underbelly, Joseph Mitchell, and because as ancient, poetic, dust-caked, gimcrack-packed, sawdust-carpeted shrines go, McSorley’s is arguably the best in America."
freaks me out a bit that Manhatta is in that space. Used to eat there almost daily when it was the Chase Manhattan Bank Officers Dining Room. quite a perk, I guess it would be worth a revisit.
JG Melon (cash only) and PJ Clark’s (the og on 3rd Ave) are my go tos.
Had brunch at Monkey Bar on Saturday, and their Snake River Wagyu cheeseburger is really, really good. Expensive as all get out, but one of the best burgers I have had in NYC.
