Notice food trucks are as expensive than many restaurants now?

I’ll take that as a compliment.

It’s not always about you, ipse, sometimes it’s about the food truck.
I was referring to-

I’ve always felt food trucks were one of the biggest scams ever – at least in terms of offering a “cheaper” alternative.
Maybe more convenient, but you pay $$$ (and more $$$) for that convenience.

My local little township used to organize food truck day every two weeks in an unused business lot, close to several employers with 1000+ employee buildings (this is a `burb of a large metro area). Nice for us, it was located about midway between my employer and my wife’s, only about a 1/4 mile walk for each of us so we could meet up for lunch.

There were some trucks that would be there every two weeks and others seemed to rotate in and out. The last time I went was a couple of years ago, because I don’t work in that area any more, but the prices were always quite decent and the food quality was really good. I keep thinking I need to hit it up again next time they do it despite being retired, but I never remember to do so on the right day.

Other than that, my other experiences with food trucks are in Florida, both Atlantic coast (Boca Raton area) and South-central FL. I visit both areas maybe 3-4 times a year. Same thing. Decent pricing for what you get (less than I would expect to pay in a restaurant for the same fare) plus really good food. Most recently was last month on my son’s HS spring break; we took the in-laws along and my daughter and her fiancé joined us from their respective coasts of FL, and all really enjoyed the lunch and dinner pickups from these food trucks.

But this is all more or less Small Town America stuff, not SF or NYC.
