Noreetuh NYC

Any thoughts on Noreetuh concerning its food? I know it has a great wine list, especially for rieslings, but I’m interested in the quality of the food and the experience (eating; atmosphere). Looking for a place for a group of 10 adults for our annual pre-Thanksgiving dinner.
Thanks in advance.

Haven’t been there in many years, but I remember really liking the smaller dishes. It’s a very pleasant place to be, but also small - are you sure they can even seat a table of 10?

We had one meal at Noreetah shortly after it opened in 2015. Since that’s nearly 10 years ago, I obviously can’t vouch for the food quality and atmospherics currently. That said…

I’m a somewhat picky eater and recall the menu being a bit of a challenge but did find things I liked. They were well prepared and tasty. My husband has a very eclectic palate and liked the dishes he chose. He also enjoyed the wine pairings.

We were seated in the rear room which is long and narrow. If several tables were put together, a group of 10 could be seated there. (My recollection is that the front room with the bar wouldn’t work.)

Here’s a link to the photo set on my Flickr: Noreetuh | Flickr

The website shows that they have large tasting menus for parties of 9 or more, so they must have some space available for a large group.
Thanks for the information.

It used to be low key famous in the nyc wine world cause there was no corkage fee to bring your own bottle on Sundays. So we’’d get 6-8 of us together and each bring a bottle. Not sure if it’s still free on Sundays.

8 bottles for 8 people on a Sunday? You know how to live.

Recently went with a couple of friends and had honestly a top 3 wine and food experience for us. (The other two are Plenitude and Le Clarence in Paris)

Not only are there incredible wines - the service is comfortable and great, it’s a cozy place for close friends, and the food is so delicious. I don’t have many photos, but I did get the Calamansi Duck and multiple musubis. Also included the iline-up of incredible wines!

yup, and we’re not bringing plonk. at some point, as I aged, the wine dinners just got to be too much for me, and haven’t been in a number of years. Wus was another wine crowd fav, typically on a Saturday night there was $1500-$2000 worth of wine on a couple of tables.
