Noodle Panda [San Francisco, Parkside]

I had lunch at Noodle Panda on Taraval this weekend. I saw it on @hyperbowler 's recent Regional Chinese roundup update and noticed that they have Lanzhou beef noodle soup. I wanted to try it as it’s hard to find in SF proper.

Menu - you can also order via a QR code on the table, but a waitress took my order.

I had the Traditional Beef Noodle Combo 传统牛肉面套餐 ($21.98) which has the noodle soup, two lamb skewers, and a cucumber salad.

The cucumber salad was cool, crunchy, and garlicky. It was nice to cool down with after spicy bites of skewer or beef noodle soup.

The lamb skewers were quite good - tender and juicy and fairly substantial with a spicy chili powder coating.

The noodle soup was also quite good. The noodles, which are apparently house made, were medium thick and had a bit of chew, and the clear broth was pretty flavorful, and spicy from the slick of chili oil on top. There were also thin slices of daikon, beef shin I think, and a good amount of cilantro. I’m glad there’s an option for Lanzhou style beef noodles in SF. Anyone know of other places in the city that serve it?

It’s not SF proper but there is Jinweide Lanzhou Beef Noodles in Millbrae (and the BART station is close-by)
