Yeah, the script was pretty trope-heavy, but the older cast did a decent job with what they had. Some of the kitchen scenes were fun, but not top-tier as a food movie. Interesting how mixed the reactions are.
I started this movie the other night. After a half hour I had to turn it off it was so bad. Faraway is a better food movie and it’s not even about food.

The only one I could find with that title seems to be set in Croatia, but maybe it starts off in Germany?
There are any number of Netflix shows and movies set (and made) in Germany, but many of them aren’t available stateside, and vice versa.
That’s it. Starts in Germany and moves to Croatia. The beginning of the movie the dialogue is all in German. Then there is a lot of english as the characters are all speaking different native languages. English as the lingua franca. There is a scene where the principal male character is grilling fish on his boat. As I watched it I got very hungry. There are a lot of food scenes in the movie. Made me want to go and visit Croatia.
