NJ pierogies

Can’t help with NJ. Sorry. Growing up in NY, there was an amazing pierogy restaurant in the East Village. The name escapes me now. Will think on it. Re recipes, one of my faves is French Onion Pierogy Soup with Mrs. T’s potato and onion or cheese pierogies.

Veselka? Christine’s? Kiev? Little Poland? Odessa? Neptune? There’s a lot to choose from! And some of them are even still open.

It was many years ago. It was the only restaurant of its’ kind then. They’re probably long gone like many I frequented in Manhattan, back in the day. Still thinking on it, though.

The Pied Piper in the Trenton Farmers Market has excellent pierogies. Also Continental Provisions in Old Bridge (?) And the Masonville Deli in Masonville are both excellent for pierogies and keilbasa.

Shirin Cafe, in Manalapan, serves delicious potato vareniki (Russian-style perogi) topped with sautéed onions.
