Gumbo of the Day
Good gumbo with andouille and chicken, dark roux with a bit of bitterness.
Housemade Spaghetti with Guanciale and Fried-Poached Farm Egg
Kind of like a spaghetti carbonara. The egg was coated with bread crumbs and deep fried but still runny in the middle. Topped with a crispy piece of guanciale. This was ok, the pasta could have been a little more al dente and the egg needed some salt. They also put cream in the sauce (I think) that seemed to mute the flavors a bit.
Lamb Sausage with Radicchio, Feta Sauce (Daily Special)
The lamb sausage was spiced like a merguez and was quite good, especially with the tangy feta sauce. Radicchio was a little crunchy, I may have liked it better if it were cooked a little bit more.
Side of dirty rice. Very good, flavorful rice. Bits of pork and I think chicken liver in there.
