New Jersey NewYears Brunch Monmouth Cty

OK HO’s the old man could use a little help here
New Years Day Brunch suggestions would be appreciated
Must have a liquor license, open to all cuisines.Close to Freehold area is preferable and getting dressed up would be the cherry on top
Rooney’s is getting boring after doing it for too many years
HELP :wine_glass:

A little off beat but what about a place like Crown Palace? I bet they have some kind of special NY menu going on!

GF suggested that it’s very good for Dim Sum but otherwise it’s very mediocre. However it’s very close and it does have a bar. They make surprisingly good cocktails :+1:

Yeah it’s a thought, hopefully someone knows a bit more upscale

Their web site says they’re doing dim sum. I was thinking more something like this but you need a bunch of people to do the banquet (which I’ve been trying to get a HOdown for for ages!)

Starts at 488 for 10 and the highest tier is 1138$ so I’m sure it’s pretty extravagant!

If you want upscale, check out Heirloom Kitchen at the St Laurent in AP. (Free street parking) I think they’re having NYD brunch.

On second look it’s not a special NY Day offering, pretty sure it is a normal offering. However I will check out whatever they are offering for Jan 1
Slim pickings around here.

What about a place like Sirena in Long Branch? No clue if they’re offering it, but you can’t beat that view of the ocean!

I never cared for that place
If I was to go down to the beach I would go back to Rooney’s I know what their about and I have been doing New Years Day there for years Looking to change it up Avenue next door to Sirena has better food than Sirena but who wants to deal with that tourist trap Pier Village ?

I was going to follow that with (don’t go to a McCloone’s spot) so methinks we’re on separate pages about where to go. Sorry I can’t help. (And for the record I can’t remember the last time I went to Pier Village. I don’t even drive through Long Branch unless it’s off season!)

Their brunch was always much nicer than their everyday food (Rooney’s)
Yes it had all the stuff Bourdain warned about but it had a great assortment of fresh clams, shellfish galore and a few meat carving stations. Well worth the price of admission. I’m sure people look down their nose at Rooney’s but it’s been good for me . I’m just want a change of scenery
McLoones?.. I wouldn’t even use the places to use their bathroom

Not a fan of Asbury anymore but thanks

Yes, you’ve made that clear. But that was a joke… I can’t really see you in PJ’s out with a 20-somethings!

So why would you suggest it. I don’t understand are you making fun of me
I’m just asking for legitimate suggestions .Knowing how old I am and how I feel about Asbury why would you post something without relevance
Merry Christmas

Oh boy…the joy of the written word. Reyla is my top choice when people ask me; their food is fantastic and I love the vibe. I just happened to see that post so I shared because I thought you’d be amused. Sorry you weren’t. Please also keep in mind there are probably others reading this thread who may also be looking for NYD options.

Not new years but Town & Country in keyport? started doing a weekend breakfast buffet. 18 bucks!

The egg presentations were a little sad looking but they had a ton of different sausages which was cool.
